5 Top Photography Tips and Tutorials for Beginners

Everyone love to take better photos, whether you are beginner or amateur, but photography is one of the hardest courses and everyone could not become the master photographer.

It is very easy to pick up the camera pointing at the subject and press click button. But the difficult part is to get a shot to match your vision and to bring perfection to your photo.

But it doesn’t mean that you can’t learn the basic photography tips or tutorial, for at least to take better photos.

So, without delaying any more time, let me introduce those top 5 photography tips and tutorials. This tip is for both beginners as well as amateur photographer.

Tip 1 – The Exposure Triangle

Photography is all about controlling and capturing the light. Most of the beginners think that photography magic happens in the body of the camera, but the real fact of photography magic is the light. A subject in bright light can be captured poorly while the subject in low-light can be captured very well. All the trick lies within the light.

So, in order to take a good shot, you should first know about the exposure triangle. When you take a photo, the camera shutter gets opened, which allows lights to get in through the lens. This light hit the camera sensor, which is then processed to create an image.

To control this light you can use the camera “exposure compensation” button that is displayed with a +/- symbol. Most of the camera comes with a dedicated button or dial or option in the camera Menu.
So, next time when you take shot in bright light then slide the exposure compensation to minus side and when you take shot in low light then slide the exposure compensation to plus side. Just take lots of photos and adjust the exposure compensation and you will finally get the idea.

Tip 1 - Change Your Perspective

This has become one of the common habits of people to take a shot of a subject straight – on from eye level. But you should know that this viewpoint is common and we interact with the world from this viewpoint every single day of our life. It’s common and boring.

Fortunately, the solution is: start capturing photos from the different viewpoint.

It means you have to snap your subject from different angle and position. You can get lower to the ground or stand on the top of Water Bridge. Try to change angle instead of capturing image straight-on. Also try to change distance, get closer or go far as per situation or scene. Get above, take the snap from left or from right. Or try all of the above-mentioned viewpoints, you will definitely going to get great pictures and you will get surprised by how different your shots appear with these changes.

For an example, just compare the following two shots:

The first one is the straight-on angle, keeping the camera closer to the ground that we see normally, but the second image is not something we see normally and hence it is more interesting.
